THE ARRIVAL
The Arrival from Zen Design Studio on Vimeo.
Daniel Montanarini's The Arrival, follows Anna who is contemplating whether or not she should terminate her pregnancy whilst waiting for the 'would be' father. The films consists of one slow tracking shot towards Anna until she makes her decision. This tracking has an almost claustrophobic effect on the viewer, almost 12 Angry Men-esque, increasing the pressure of the situation.

The cold tones in the first two pictures, not only isolate Anna from the mise en scéne but intensify the cold atmosphere (literally). The Dark colours of the walls and booth around her draw the viewers into her cream jumper and glowing face. One Anna has made her decision the colour tones within the scenes become warmer as we can see from the pictures above. This have a positive spin on the film, as she looks happier and more confident with her choice.
